Epix Inc. in Buffalo Grove, Ill., is offering the Silicon Video 9T001C color camera system for rugged applications such as unmanned vehicles. The 1.5-by-1.9-inch camera case has a high-speed and high-resolution machine-vision camera. One small RJ-45 cable provides power, control, and pixel data between the camera and frame grabber. Applications include microscopy, machine vision, motion analysis, biometrics, inspection, quality control, and security, with special emphasis on automated vision guidance for land, air, or marine. Programmable area of interest and the programmable pixel clock allow frame rates from 12 frames per second at 2,048 by 1,536 pixels with a 48-MHz pixel clock. Other examples of frame rates are 65 frames per second at 800 by 600 pixels, and 30 frames per second at 2,048 by 660 pixels using a 70-MHz pixel clock. The PIXCI SI PCI interface supplies power, programmable pixel clock, exposure control, trigger input, and strobe output. The system includes camera, PIXCI SI PCI bus frame grabber, RJ-45 cable, and XCAP-Lite software. For more information contact Epix online at www.epixinc.com.
