Barco picks Tektronix for test and measurement

August 1, 2005

Engineers at Barco, in Kortrijk, Belgium, needed test and measurement products to develop an air traffic management system.

They found a solution with the TDS7704B Digital Phosphor Oscilloscope (DPO) and the 8GHz P7380 Z-Active high performance probe solution, both from Tektronix, Beaverton, Ore.

“The TDS7704B’s superior bandwidth and fast rise time are essential in order for us to check the signal integrity of our products,” said Bjorn Declercq, development electronics engineer at Barco. “Furthermore, the probing solution offered by Tektronix supports fast, effective and economical testing and measurement.”

“Developing dependable products through effective test and measurement is key to Barco’s business,” said Jeroen Debonnet, research and development manager for Barco’s air traffic control unit. “The TDS7704B provides us with superior measurement fidelity plus unrivaled analysis and usability to deliver a highly effective, fast test solution for complex, high-speed designs that need to operate reliably in a life critical environment.”

The TDS7704B is used to solve high-speed measurement problems in communications, computing, and other advanced electronic applications. It uses 7-GHz bandwidth and an advanced SiGe triggering system optimized for debugging signal anomalies and glitches that are less than 110 ps. For more information, see www.tektronix.com.
