Diversified Technology Inc. (DTI) in Ridgeland, Miss., introduced its ATS2148 AdvancedTCA hub switch blade for a dual star-fabric-based ATCA shelf. The board complies with the PICMG 3.2 specification via option 1. The ATS2148 has an InfiniBand switch on ATCA’s fabric interface, and also has an Ethernet switch on ATCA’s base interface. Supporting ATCA 3.2 Option 1, the ATS2148 provides 15 InfiniBand x4 connections to the backplane, thereby supporting either a 14- or 16-slot AdvancedTCA platform. The nonblocking, low-latency fabric switch supports all 15 backplane ports (10 gigabits per second) and three front panel ports (10 gigabits per second) running at full wire speed.
