Next-generation Fibre Channel network access cards

Data Device Corp. (DDC) in Bohemia, N.Y., is offering its FC-75100 series of FibreACCESS Fibre Channel network adapters. The cards are based on DDC-developed intellectual property, and offer the functionality of the existing FibreACCESS NACs at lowered cost and reduced power consumption, company officials say. The FibreACCESS FPGA-based design supports field maintenance and major upgrades through periodic firmware upgrades, as well as customization. The cards are conduction cooled and operate at temperatures from -40 to 85 degrees Celsius and have about 50 percent of the footprint of a standard small-form-factor optical transceiver, which enables military and aerospace integrators to minimize overall size, weight, and to increase fiber-optic cable bend radius. The new FC-75100 series of FibreACCESS NACs will be available next fall. For more information contact DDC online at www.ddc-web.com.
