Attenuator relay design improves performance in ultraminiature package

Teledyne Relays in Hawthorne, Calif., is offering the A152 electromechanical attenuator relay that blends the attenuator circuit and bypass path inside the relay. The device in RF switching applications offers high isolation between the signal path and the control voltage; low insertion loss of relay contacts; insertion-loss repeatability of plus-or-minus 0.1 at 4.5 GHz; and a large bandwidth that allows usage from DC to 5 GHz. The RF characteristics of the A152 are stable over the temperature range of -55 to 85 degrees Celsius. Unlike plastic RF relays, the device is hermetically sealed from the effects of harsh environmental conditions. The attenuator relay measures 12.07 by 9.53 by 7.11 millimeters. It has six leads spaced on two rows 5.08 millimeters apart and spaced 3.81 millimeters on centers. The unit weighs less than 3.12 grams.
