LEON3 microprocessor core available on Actel FPGAs

November 1, 2006

Actel Corp. in Mountain View, Calif., is offering a LEON3 processor-based application optimized for the Actel RTAX-S field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs). The LEON3 microprocessor core comes from Gaiser Research AB in Goteborg, Sweden. Gaiser has joined Actel’s CompanionCore Partner Program to offer IP cores to Actel FPGA customers. The microprocessor core includes simulators, software development tools, fault-tolerant or non-fault-tolerant version of the 32-bit LEON3 SPARC V8-compliant processor, a Spacewire Codec, and the Gaiser Research floating point unit. Actel also offers Core1553 and CorePCIF IP cores from its DirectCore portfolio, company officials say. Gaiser’s solutions also support Actel’s ProASIC3, Fusion Programmable System Chip, and low-power IGLOO device families. For more information contact Actel online at www.actel.com.
