EDO receives orders for fighter-jet test units totaling $19.4 million

November 1, 2006

Fighter-jet pilots need to be confident that their defensive electronics are functional before they embark on a mission. For that reason, the U.S. Air Force, and certain foreign militaries and prime contractors, have placed orders with EDO Corp. Defense Systems in North Amityville, N.Y., for its flight-line test units.

The EDO AN/PLM-4 portable radar-signal simulator tests the radar-warning receivers onboard approximately 25 types of fighter jets and military aircraft. The U.S. Air Force uses the devices to test radar-warning systems before takeoff, as well as during routine maintenance.

The combined orders call for the delivery of 273 AN/PLM-4 devices in exchange for approximately $19.4 million. EDO Corporation representatives anticipate the orders will be fulfilled by July 2007. For more information, visit www.edocorp.com.
