The U.S. Navy has elected to continue its use of power supply systems from Behlman Electronics Inc. in Hauppauge, N.Y., for its MK-119 fire-control systems aboard Arleigh Burke-class Aegis destroyers.

The Navy recently entered into a follow-on contract with Behlman Electronics, a subsidiary of Orbit International Corp., whereby the Behlman 94012-MK-119 will power the MK-119 fire-control systems.

The modular, rack-mountable 94012-MK-119 power supply system incorporates three Behlman 94016-MK-119 line replaceable units (LRUs). These COTS LRUs have been ruggedized and further modified to offer N+1 redundancy, internal fans, front-panel status indicators, and current sharing, as well as to meet MIL-STD-1399 and MIL-STD-461 specifications. If one LRU were to fail, the remaining two would be able to carry the full load while a replacement unit is hot-swapped.
