Harris selects Proligent test software for TRuepoint radios

March 1, 2007

The Harris Corp. Microwave Communications Division in Melbourne, Fla., chose Proligent as its test software to automate tests for its family of TRuepoint digital microwave radios. Proligent, the flagship product of Averna Technologies in Montreal, will support test requirements and remote production for Harris.

Harris needed an off-the-shelf platform that would accelerate test development time, speed up deployment, and improve the efficiency of the entire test infrastructure. Proligent brings added value to Harris’s product-introduction activities and enables Harris to reduce time to quality through its easy to use, configurable, and high-performance platform.

“Proligent is part of our strategy to implement test-management best practices, establishing critical links to the rest of the production flow,” says Denis Gagnon, manager of test engineering at Harris Microwave. “The Proligent solution allows us to test development, supervise, and control our products anywhere our test stations are located, without adding overhead.”

Harris Microwave is the largest supplier of microwave systems in North America, company officials say. Averna focuses on test solutions, design validation, and real-time and control automation.

“Proligent provides the flexibility to meet the changing requirements of test infrastructures, which makes it ideally suited for long-term support,” says Roger Duguay, vice president of business development for Proligent at Averna. “It can be rapidly deployed and provides an immediate return on investment; Proligent is the perfect solution for growing manufacturers.”
