Aethercomm Inc. in San Marcos, Calif., is introducing a high-power CW or pulsed RF amplifier that operates from 350 to 500 MHz in a rack-mounted configuration. The SSPA 35-0.50-1000-RM operates from VHF to UHF in bands. The amplifier is packaged in a 5U-high, 19-inch rack-mounted enclosure. It has a typical output power of 1000 watts at P3dB, with a typical small signal gain of 65 dB with a typical gain flatness of ±0.5 dB. Input and output VSWR is 2.0:1 maximum. This RF rack-mounted amplifier operates from 230 volts AC, three-phase power but can be configured to operate from any AC voltage specified. There are forward and reflected power RF sample ports. The output is protected from an infinite VSWR at the RF output port. An RF-enabled switch is on the front panel of the amplifier. A complex thermal-management system cools the internal circuitry.
