Elma Electronic in Fremont, Calif., is offering the Type E37 that is two encoders in one switch for industrial, communications, military and aerospace, medical, and audio applications. The Type E37 features a dual concentric inner shaft and outer pole, allowing it to act as two encoders. This can save the space and cost of a second separate switch. The encoder comes with or without an integrated push button and has a rugged metal housing and shaft. The Type E37 series has optional IP68 front-panel sealing and an operating temperature range of -40 to 85 degrees Celsius. It comes with 16 or 32 detents in standard resolution. The Type E37 has a rotational life of as many as one million revolutions. The “click with a kick” indexing system provides tactile feedback that you can feel and hear as the switch is rotated. This allows the user to change channels or frequencies in precise intervals, without having to look at the switch indicator. Other features include a threaded or non-threaded bushing, vertical or horizontal mounting, and various shaft dimension and shape possibilities. Various standard options and customization are available. For more information, visit Elma online at www.elma.com.
