Keynote speakers for Military & Aerospace Electronics Forum and Avionics USA confirmed

SAN DIEGO–Leaders from the defense and commercial aviation communities will deliver the keynote addresses at the Military & Aerospace Electronics Forum and Avionics USA conferences and exhibitions. Both events will take place on June 1 and 2, 2009 at the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego.

Frank Gordon, head of the Navigation and Applied Sciences Department, at the United States Navy Space and Warfare Command (SPAWAR) Systems Center in San Diego will kick off the Military & Aerospace Electronics Forum at 8:40 a.m. on June 1.

Concurrently, Tim Tuttle of Boeing Commercial Airplanes in Long Beach, Calif., opens the inaugural Avionics USA event, also scheduled to begin at 8:40 a.m. on June 1.

Avionics USA marks the expansion of the popular, annual Avionics conference and exposition, most recently held this past March in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. It will be co-located with the Military & Aerospace Electronics Forum. Both shows will share an exhibit floor, but have two separate conferences.

Session topics at Avionics USA include: next-generation air traffic management, runway incursion, electronic flight bags, layered information assurance for avionics systems, certification and standards for future avionics systems, avionics components standards, cost benefit analysis of implementing performance-based navigation, avionics upgrades, and obsolescence.
