Pentek Inc. in Upper Saddle River, N.J., is introducing the RTS 2701 real-time data recording system for military data acquisition, dedicated record/playback, laboratory test, or remote data acquisition. The recording and playback system with multiband transceiver incorporates a 7641-420 software-defined radio (SDR) module. The RTS 2701 Windows XP workstation data recording system comes in a standard 19-inch rackmount chassis server, and enables users to run their own applications as well as a wide range of third-party software for signals analysis and post processing. The RTS 2701 is designed for digitizing analog signals from military communications systems or radar technology, and then delivering that data to disk arrays running at 500 megabytes per second. Once captured, the data can then either be post processed or archived. Recorded signals can be played back through D-A converters, reproducing real-time analog output signals while preserving the original bandwidth. The RTS 2701 is equipped with Pentek’s model 7641-420 multiband transceiver. It comprises wideband and narrowband digital downconverters that translate analog IF signals to baseband and digital upconverters that translate baseband digital signals to analog IF frequencies.
