The Microsemi Corp. Power and Microelectronics Group in Phoenix is introducing the MSM37 and MSM75 Serial Advanced Technology Attachment (SATA) solid-state data storage systems for embedded computing in aerospace and defense secure applications. The compact MSM37 and MSM75 provide as much as 75 gigabytes of NAND flash solid-state storage.
The devices are for applications where a 2.5-inch storage device is too large. Security features include AES-128 encryption, self-destruct capability, and whole-module erase with push-button trigger option to meet requirements of mission-critical defense and aerospace applications. The ball grid array package comes in 37- and 75-gigabyte densities, combining a SATA flash controller with the small-geometry single-line cell NAND flash. The device includes one supply with extended hold-up time without super caps or batteries.
