REAL-TIME SOFTWARE: Real-time operating system offered by Green Hills for STMicroelectronics microprocessors

Green Hills Software Inc. in Santa Barbara, Calif., is introducing software development tools and operating system support for SPEAr300 and SPEAr600 microprocessors from STMicroelectronics in Geneva. The Green Hills Integrity real-time operating system (RTOS) is available for the SPEAr300, SPEAr310, SPEAr320, and SPEAr600 processors. Combining an ARM926EJ-S processor core with audio, communications, and connectivity interfaces, such as Ethernet and Gigabit Ethernet, the SPEAr3xx microprocessor family is for human-machine interface, communications, and security applications. The SPEAr600 uses dual ARM926EJ-S cores, connectivity features, and a programmable liquid crystal display interface. The Integrity RTOS is for high-reliability applications in aerospace and defense, industrial control, automation, transportation, medical, consumer, and other industries. In addition to Integrity for the SPEAr300 and SPEAr600 processors, Green Hills is providing embedded communications, graphics, file systems, and other middleware; the MULTI integrated development environment; C/C++ compilers; and the Green Hills Probe for low-level control of the ARM core for device-driver development, board bring-up, and system debugging.
