TEST AND MEASUREMENT: Avionics test system from DDC turns USB 2.0 port into MIL-STD-1553, ARINC 429, or ARINC 717 test interface

Data Device Corp. (DDC) in Bohemia, N.Y., is introducing an avionics test system that connects to a standard USB 2.0 port to help support avionics designers in testing, simulation, and analysis. The BU-67211UX combines as many as two dual redundant MIL-STD-1553 channels with as many as eight user-programmable, receive or transmit ARINC 429 channels, and as many as two user-programmable receive or transmit ARINC 717 channels.

The BU-67211UX avionics test instrument also supports IRIG-B, CAN bus, Serial I/O, and Discrete I/O interfaces. The test and measurement device is for product development, systems integration labs, production test labs, and simulators. The 1553 channels offer concurrent BC + Multi-RT + MT, real-time inter-message event and data modification, error injection, and error sampling. Each ARINC 429 channel can be programmed to be either a transmitter or receiver. The BU-67211UX has standard twinax connectors to interface with the 1553 bus.
