DATA STORAGE: Rugged solid-state drives for industrial and automotive applications introduced by Greenliant

Greenliant Systems Ltd. in Santa Clara, Calif., is readying to introduce the e.MMC NANDrive GLS85VM embedded, rugged, solid-state drive (SSD) for in-vehicle infotainment, routers and switches, and single-board computer applications.

The e.MMC NANDrive GLS85VM rugged SSD for embedded computing operates in temperatures from -40 to 85 degrees Celsius to withstand severe conditions. The device supports the JEDEC e.MMC 4.4 standard and is backward compatible with JEDEC 4.3. The e.MMC NANDrive embedded SSD combines Greenliant's NAND controller with NAND flash die for an integrated SSD in a multi-chip package. It is available with 2-bits-per-cell (MLC) or 1-bit-per-cell (SLC) NAND, measures 14 by 18 millimeters, and comes in a 100 ball grid array (BGA) package, with 1-millimeter ball pitch.
