Phantom Eye gains improved landing gear

The Boeing liquid hydrogen-powered Phantom Eye unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) completed taxi testing at Edwards Air Force Base in California as it progresses toward its second flight. During testing, the Phantom Eye demonstrator aircraft sitting atop its launch cart reached speeds up to 40 knots. Software and hardware upgrades enable the UAV to fly at higher altitudes. Phantom Eye's liquid-hydrogen propulsion will fly for as long as four days at altitudes to 65,000 feet for long-term persistent surveillance.
