Rugged data storage specialist Phoenix International Systems Inc. in Orange, Calif., introduced the rugged RPC24 4000 information storage system for bandwidth-intensive data recording applications, such as high resolution imagery, video recording, and radar data acquisition.
The RPC24 4000 is an evolution of the 2012 released RPC24, and delivers 99.999 percent availability, company officials say. The RPC24 4000 offers speeds to 5,200 megabytes per second of sustained sequential read throughput, a 2.5 times increase over the previous generation 3000, and speeds to 3,500 megabytes per second of sustained sequential write performance. For demanding transaction-oriented applications, such as cloud storage and business analytics, the RPC24 4000 delivers 100,000 IOPS sustained from disk for fast access to database and structured data content, and up to 650,000 IOPS from cache.
