MISSION VIEJO, Calif., 27 Nov. 2012. Holt Integrated Circuits in Mission Viejo, Calif., is introducing the HI-8597 ARINC 429avionics databus line driver capable of meeting DO-160G Level 3 pin injection waveforms without external components.

The device operates from one 3.3-volt power supply, and has internal lightning protection circuitry that complies with RTCA/DO-160G, Section 22 Level 3 pin injection test waveform set A (3 & 4), set B (3 & 5A) and set Z (3 & 5B) without external components.

An internal 37.5-Ohm resistor on each output enables connection to the ARINC 429 bus. All ARINC 429 voltage levels are generated by the on-chip DC/DC converter, operating from one 3.3-volt supply using four external capacitors.

The device also has short-circuit capability on the ARINC 429 outputs (+/-50-volt for 1 second). The HI-8597 is available in a compact 16-pin E-SOIC package.
