SAN JOSE, Calif., 5 Aug. 2013.Cyber warfare experts at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in Washington are going to Silicon Valley to demonstrate recently developed cyber security technologies from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on 22 Aug. 2013 at the San Jose Marriott in San Jose, Calif.

The event is for cyber security professionals and technology investors from private industry to learn about these new technologies through presentations, demonstrations, and discussions with the research teams that produced these technologies.

Those attending also will be able to schedule private one-on-one discussions with researchers about commercializing the technologies and about further cyber security research.

Sponsoring the event are officials of the DHS Science and Technology Directorate (S&T) Cyber Security Division (CSD). The event is called Cyber Security Transition to Practice.

This event will feature eight innovative cyber security technologies that have been developed at the U.S. Department of Energy national laboratories and that have the potential to strengthen an organization's cyber security posture, DHS officials say.

The DHS Transition to Practice (TTP) program works to identify emerging cyber security technologies developed with federal funding. Registration for this event is open to cyber security investors, integrators and information technology companies, as well as to security professionals from federal, state, and local government.
