SANTA CLARA, Calif., 16 Dec. 2013. Agilent Technologies Inc. in Santa Clara, Calif., is introducing the U5309A compact 8-bit PCI Express digitizer sampling at speeds as fast as 2 gigasamples per second for aerospace and defense test & measurement applications.

The Agilent U5309A high-speed digitizer features two channels with an analog bandwidth from DC to 500 MHz, a large DDR3 memory for long acquisition time, and high data throughput with its PCI Express 2.0 eight-lane interface.

In addition, the U5309A includes a Xilinx Virtex-6 field-programmable gate array (FPGA), which enables users to load custom real-time signal processing algorithms created with the U5340A FPGA development kit software.

The PCI Express high-speed digitizer focus also is on interoperability, reusability and upgradeability. The software driver provided for both the U5303A and the U5309A supports several programmable interfaces for easy integration of the data converter into existing environments.

It also has on-board signal processing. Companies and research institutions can implement their own algorithm as they develop technologies for high-end applications.
