Bias-T that combines RF signals and DC power on a coax cable introduced by AR Modular

BOTHELL, Wash., 21 March 2014. AR Modular RF in Bothell, Wash., is introducing the model AR-RBT Remote Bias-T RF and microwave device for existing military equipment.

The AR Modular RF model AR-RBT Remote Bias-T combines RF signals and DC power onto one coax cable to enable a warfighter to locate his 20-Watt single KMW1031, 50-Watt AR-50, or 75-Watt AR-75 power amplifiers remotely using one RF coax cable.

The model AR-RBT Bias-T can eliminate the need to transport several heavy copper DC power lines to the remote amplifier.

Further advantages of locating the amplifier remotely at the antenna is to improve the PA’s output power by reducing line loss.

Users also can increase the performance of the low noise amplifier at the antenna which will improve the transmit power and receive noise figure.

The AR-RBT is a compact, lightweight tactical low loss bias tee designed and built to withstand hostile environments. The AR-RBT Remote Bias-T has a treated aluminum enclosure meeting IP67 standards and handling to 1000-volt spikes during thunder storms.
