Air Force to brief industry on opportunities and challenges in C4I June 10 and 11 in Utica, N.Y.

UTICA, N.Y., 4 April 2014. U.S. Air Force officials will brief industry on 10 and 11 June 2014 on challenges and research opportunities in information systems and technology for U.S. Air Force and Department of Defense (DOD) applications.
UTICA, N.Y., 4 April 2014. U.S. Air Force officials will brief industry on 10 and 11 June 2014 on challenges and research opportunities in information systems and technology for U.S. Air Force and Department of Defense (DOD) applications.

The briefings, sponsored by the AFCEA Erie Canal Chapter, will be at the Radisson Hotel and Conference Center in Utica, N.Y. The theme is a 2014 Command, Control, Communications, Cyber, and Intelligence (C4I) Technology Review, with participation from the Air Force Research Laboratory and the Information Institute.

Each day will have several addresses by senior Air Force leaders and Air Force Research Laboratory senior staff on future challenges and research opportunities in C4I technologies. Afternoon technical sessions will involve experts from academia, industry, and government, with opportunities for attendees to participate in parallel technical sessions in mini-workshops.

Topics of the afternoon workshops include hard problems in technology transfer, nanotechnology, secure cloud computing, software-defined RF and spectrum sharing, large teams and autonomous systems, neuromorphic computing, cyber resilience and mission assurance, and ultra portable secure information management technologies.

The keynote speaker for 10 June is Maj. Gen. Thomas J. Masiello, commander of the Air Force Research Laboratory. Commander, Air Force Research Laboratory. Attendees must be U.S. citizens or permanent resident aliens. Two forms of identification are required, and discussions will be unclassified.
