Intel 8XC196 family of microcontrollers reintroduced by Rochester for motor control applications

NEWBURYPORT, Mass., 6 May 2014. Aftermarket electronics specialist Rochester Electronics in Newburyport, Mass., is re-introducing the Intel 8XC196 family of microcontrollers for motor control, modem, printer, and pattern-recognition applications within embedded computing systems.

Introduced in 1982 as the Intel MCS-96 family, these MCUs come in a variety of packages, temperature ranges and speeds, including military versions for the 80C196KB, 87C196KC and KD.

In 2007, Intel discontinued this family of microcontrollers in 2007, and Rochester Electronics has owned the intellectual property of these devices since then.

Tested to OSM standards, all devices manufactured by Rochester Electronics are replications of the original semiconductor devices, featuring the exact form, fit and function.
