The HCM power electronics device offers a 4:1 input range -- 9 to 36 volts DC and 18 to 75 volts DC. Output voltages available are 3.3, 5, 12, 15, and 24 volts DC. Four through holes are provided for mounting as well as the attachment of a heat sink for extended-temperature use. The operating temperature range of the HCM is -40 to 100 degrees Celsius.
The HCM measures 4.3 by 3.2 by 1 inches and weighs 11.4 ounces. The HCM has a protected, recessed barrier strip facing the top of the case to make connections tight quarters while protecting the barrier strip from physical damage.
A DIN mount option is available, and the HCM is encapsulated to withstand a variety of environmental conditions including dust, moisture, shock, and vibration. RoHS and non-RoHS versions are available.
All models include remote sense and trim, remote ON/OFF, and auto-softstart. Each model also has volt-seconds clamp and fast over voltage protection, pulse by pulse current limiting, short circuit frequency foldback, dead short shutdown, and thermal shutdown. The switching frequency of the HCM is 260 kHz.
Efficiencies run as high as 89 percent. Output noise typically is 1 percent of voltage output. Reflected ripple is 30 milliamps peak to peak. Line and load regulation is 0.01 percent and 0.02 percent respectively. Output voltage setpoint accuracy is +/-1 percent.
