MISSION VIEJO, Calif., 6 Oct. 2014. Holt Integrated Circuits Inc. in Mission Viejo, Calif., is introducing the HI-8428 discrete-to-digital sensor integrated circuit for a variety of commercial and military avionics applications.

The HI-8428 has eight programmable sense channels, which may be individually configured as GND/Open or Supply/Open (28 volts/Open) sensors.

The HI-8428 complies with Airbus ABD0100H and has fixed GND/Open thresholds of 4.5 volts/10.5 volts respectively. Open/Supply thresholds are fixed at 6.0 volts/12.0 volts respectively.

In GND/Open mode a 1mA wetting current is sourced from the sense input to prevent dry relay contacts. The digital circuitry operates from a 3.3-volt power supply, with the analog circuitry operating from a 12 volts to 16.5 volts supply.

All sense inputs are internally lightning protected to RTCA/DO160G, Section 22 Level 3 pin injection test waveform set A (3 & 4), Set B (3 & 5A) and the latest set Z (3 & 5B) without the use of any external components.

The device is available in a 16-pin, narrow body SOIC with exposed heat pad. For more information contact Holt online at www.holtic.com.
