FORT WORTH, Texas, 10 Oct. 2014. Electronics distributor TTI Inc. in Fort Worth, Texas, is introducing the DEUTSCH 369 connector series from TE Connectivity in Harrisburg, Pa., for harsh-environment aerospace applications like in-flight entertainment and power in civil aircraft.

Designed to provide a high-reliability, lightweight, compact and cost-efficient interconnect solution, the TE DEUTSCH 369 Series is particularly suited to harsh-environment applications that include high vibration and moisture.

Sealed for use in areas with high moisture levels and manufactured from high-performance composite materials, the interconnects conform to the smoke, toxicity, and flammability requirements of FAR 25.

The TE Connectivity DEUTSCH 369 Series is designed for applications where fewer contacts are required and shielding is unnecessary, company officials say. The connectors are available in 3-, 6,- and 9-way configurations, as well as in a range of individually color-coded keying options.

Each half of the connector can be configured with either male or female contacts, which offers the advantage of doubling the possible keying combinations and protecting contacts on the powered side of the system.

Aerospace standard AS39029 contacts can be extracted and reinserted from the rear of the connector with standard tooling, and in blind mating or low visibility conditions, the scoop-proof interface prevents damage to contacts.

A button latching mechanism provides fast positive and audible locking, while a latch security feature helps prevent inadvertent un-mating.
