AMC processor for packet filtering, intelligent networking, and cloud computing introduced by VadaTech

HENDERSON, Nev., 15 Oct. 2014. VadaTech Inc. in Henderson, Nev., is introducing the AMC740 Tilera processor in the Advanced Mezzanine Card (AMC) form factor for packet filtering, intelligent networking, multimedia, video transcoding, cloud and other applications.

The AMC740 Tilera embedded computing processor has 72 tiles (cores) in the double module, full-size. and offers 4-by-10 Gigabit Ethernet ports, dual RJ-45, and a USB port via the front panel.

Four banks of DDR3 64-bit memory with ECC and a bank of Flash memory are provided. PCI Express or XAUI signals can run across the fat pipe or extended fat pipe region for x4 or x8 ports.

The VadaTech processor provides a balance of performance and low power consumption. The AMC740 includes 72 identical processor cores (tiles) interconnected with Tilera's iMesh on-chip network. Each tile consists of a full-haved, 64-bit processor core as well as L1 and L2 cache and an on-blocking Terabits per second switch.

VadaTech provides processors in Intel, Cavium, Tilera, and Freescale architectures in the AMC format. The company also provides the ecosystem of MicroTCA products, including AMCs, chassis platforms, MCHs, power modules, and application-ready platforms.
