Astrodyne boosts expertise in high-power electronics with its acquisition of TDI Power

MANSFIELD, Mass., 7 Nov. 2014. Executives of power electronics specialist Astrodyne Corp. in Mansfield, Mass., are boosting their company's expertise in high-power technologies with their acquisition of TDI Power in Hackettstown, N.J. TDI designs and manufactures power supplies and integrated systems for military and aerospace, semiconductor manufacturing, industrial, medical, and other applications, with an emphasis in demanding applications requiring precise voltage and current in harsh or variable conditions, company officials say.
MANSFIELD, Mass., 7 Nov. 2014. Executives of power electronics specialist Astrodyne Corp. in Mansfield, Mass., are boosting their company's expertise in high-power electronics technologies with their acquisition of TDI Power in Hackettstown, N.J.

TDI designs and manufactures power supplies and integrated systems for military and aerospace, semiconductor manufacturing, industrial, medical, and other applications, with an emphasis in demanding applications requiring precise voltage and current in harsh or variable conditions, company officials say.

TDI has "built an impressive brand and have unmatched engineering capabilities in higher power applications, which complements Astrodyne's low-to-medium power solutions and EMI filters," says Astrodyne President and CEO Pete Kaczmarek. Financial details of the deal were not released.

"The combination of Astrodyne's wide range of power supplies and EMI filter products with TDI Power's expertise in high power, thermal management, and system integration makes Astrodyne a truly global provider of power solutions," Kaczmarek says.

Astrodyne plans to continue to operate TDI Power's Hackettstown, N.J., and Shenzhen, China, manufacturing facilities, and will look to create synergies that will provide additional benefits to customers, Astrodyne officials say.

TDI Power provide power electronics for defense, aerospace, telecommunications, data storage, and similar industries. The company also operates a manufacturing facility in Shenzhen, China, and an engineering design center in Ronkonkoma, N.Y.

Astrodyne builds power supplies, EMI filters, and electronic control products. In addition to the company's headquarters in Mansfield, Mass., Astrodyne has facilities in Norristown, Pa., Elizabeth, N.J., Fremont and Yorba Linda, Calif., Shanghai, China, Kunshan, China, and Taipei, Taiwan.
