LOWELL, Mass., 22 Jan. 2015. M/A-COM Technology Solutions Inc. in Lowell, Mass., is introducing the MAAP-011139 high-inearity 4-Watt power amplifier for Ka-band high-data-density satellite communications (SATCOM).

M/A-COM's MAAP-011139 RF and microwave device comes in bare die format and a 5-by-5-millimeter 32-lead QFN package. The device delivers 24 dB of linear gain, 4-Watts of saturated output power, and 23 percent efficiency.

The device provides greater than 27 dBm Pout/tone while maintaining IM3 levels of 30 dBc, which enables the MAAP-011139 to replace two equivalent competing alternatives with one device while operating in an overall more efficient mode, company officials say.
