Sparton of Canada Ltd. in London, Ontario, a wholly owned subsidiary of Sparton, completed the acquisition of Stealth.com Inc. Monday in an all-cash transaction, company officials announced Tuesday.
Stealth.com is a build-to-order, specialty builder of high performance ruggedized industrial grade computers systems and peripherals that include mini PCs, rackmount server PCs, portable PCs, and LCD touch screen displays.
Stealth.com engineers build these products for military, government, industrial, and commercial applications. The acquisition "further expands our engineered components and products offering in the ruggedized electronics space," says Sparton President and CEO Cary Wood.

"Stealth.com complements our existing offerings under Aydin Displays and KEP Marine, allowing us to serve a wider breadth of customers with a greater depth of products and services," Wood says.
Sparton is perhaps best known for supplying a variety of air- and vessel-launch sonobuoys for the U.S. Navy's initiatives in anti-submarine warfare (ASW) and marine surveillance.
The company also is involved in the Upward Falling Payloads (UFP) program of the U.S. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) in Arlington, Va., which seeks to develop sensors and non-lethal weapons to deploy on the ocean floor sometimes years in advance for surprise deployment among the nation's naval adversaries during times of war or international tension.
Sparton designs and manufactures complex and sophisticated electromechanical devices with capabilities that include concept development, industrial design, design and manufacturing engineering, production, distribution, field service, and refurbishment.

The company's primary target markets are military and aerospace, industrial, medical and biotechnology, and commercial electronics applications.
Over the past 15 months Sparton executives have made four acquisitions to move into markets where the company previously had no presence, Wood says. "We expect Stealth.com's revenue to enhance the company's engineered components & products segment," he says.
