Officials of the 38th Contracting Squadron at Tinker Air Force Base, Okla., have announced an $8 million contract to CyberDefenses for Air Force Intranet Control Support Defense Joint Regional Security Stacks. They awarded the contract on behalf of the 38th Cyberspace Engineering Installation Group.
The company will provide the Air Force enterprise-level network management, optimized communications, and defensive measures at the Air Force Information Network gateways.
The 38th Cyberspace Engineering Installation Group, which was activated in 2012, is the Air Force's premier engineering and installation group, and is backbone of the cyberspace domain, Air Force officials say.
The organization is in place to plan, engineer, and deliver a survivable and resilient infrastructure to establish the cyberspace domain and enable the Air Force to conduct network-centric offensive and defensive air, space, and cyberspace operations.
The group has five squadrons - the 38th Engineering Squadron, the 38th Contracting Squadron, the 38th Operations Support Squadron at Tinker Air Force Base, and the 38th Cyberspace Readiness Squadron at Scott Air Force Base, Ill., and the 85th Engineering Installation Squadron at Keesler Air Force Base, Miss.
Together these groups are in place to deliver a robust, secure, and resilient cyberspace domain supporting Air Force and Joint missions for national defense, Air Force officials say.
CyberDefenses serves the cyber security needs of government and private customers. The company specializes in information assurance services and information technology services related to cyber security, management, and technology solutions.
