DC-DC converters for powering CPUs, ASICs, FPGAs, DDR3, and DDR4 introduced by Murata

MANSFIELD, Mass., 29 July 2015. Murata Power Solutions in Mansfield, Mass., is introducing three single output, non-isolated point of load (PoL) DC-DC converters for powering CPUs, ASICs, FPGAs, DDR3 and DDR4, as well as use in other distributed bus architectures.
MANSFIELD, Mass., 29 July 2015. Murata Power Solutions in Mansfield, Mass., is introducing three single output, non-isolated point of load (PoL) DC-DC converters for powering CPUs, ASICs, FPGAs, DDR3 and DDR4, as well as use in other distributed bus architectures.

Constructed in a single in-line package (SIP) format, these compact power electronics devices use the latest synchronous buck technology to deliver thermal performance, high power density, and efficiencies as high as 95 percent.

The new models add 20-, 30-, and 50-amp devices to the existing 1.5-, 3-, 6-, and 10-amp range. The 20-amp model, OKR-T/20-W12-C, measures 15.5 by 36.8 by 11.2 millimeters and accommodates 6-to-13.8-volts DC input and a programmable output in the range 0.591 to 5 volts DC and efficiency to 94 percent.

The 30-amp, OKR-T/30-W12-C model offers a 5.5 to 13.8 volts DC input and a 0.591 to 6 volts DC output with efficiency to 95 percent. The 50-amp OKR-T/50-W12-C converter has an input voltage range of 6.5 volts to 13.8 volts, an output in the range 0.591 to 2.5 volts DC and measures 27.9 by 36.8 by 15.5 millimeters.

The OKR series includes a number of safety protection features such as over temperature, over current and under voltage lock out. The series also have On/Off and remote sense capabilities.
