Embedded computing chassis for OpenVPX backplanes in military systems introduced by Pixus

WATERLOO, Ontario, 17 Aug. 2015. Pixus Technologies in Waterloo, Ontario, is introducing the VPXD0800 open-frame embedded computing chassis for OpenVPX backplanes. Other standard backplane architectures also can be used in the enclosure.

WATERLOO, Ontario, 17 Aug. 2015. Pixus Technologies in Waterloo, Ontario, is introducing the VPXD0800 open-frame embedded computing chassis for OpenVPX backplanes. Other standard backplane architectures also can be used in the enclosure.

The VPXD0800 offers as many as eight OpenVPX slots in a 1-inch pitch. The modular card guides can be spaced in any 0.2-inch increments allowing use of various slot pitches. There also is an option for conduction-cooled module card guides.

Pixus provides VPX backplanes in several slot sizes and configurations with the VPXD0800. The company also offers custom backplane designs, even in lower quantities. The VPXD0800 has AC or DC PSU options to 900 Watts and includes a carry handle. Low-cost PSUs designed to VITA 62 for VPX systems also are available.

Pixus offers backplane designs and chassis platforms in OpenVPX, CompactPCI, AdvancedTCA, MicroTCA, and custom architectures. The company also has ejector handles and panels geared for OpenVPX systems. A version of the VPXD0800 for 3U sized boards in currently in design.
