OTTAWA, Ontario — Precise Software Technologies has announced release of its RT/Studio royalty-free integrated development platform for wireless, networking, and telecommunications systems.

"Until today, embedded system developers have paid royalties for access to the productivity afforded by an integrated development platform," says marketing manager Dinesh Narayanan. "RT/Studio's integrated software and development tools set a new standard for the rapid creation and verification of sophisticated applications with wide-ranging communication capabilities, while enhancing the profit potential of our customers' products."

Marketing director Brian Machesney says RT/Studio uses a POSIX-like 32-bit real-time operating system — MQXTM — and is scalable for most communications applications.

"It can build an embedded application in 15 minutes without writing a single line of code," he claims. "And it is one of the few with stacks-aware debugging in addition to RTOS-awareness. It also offers remote debugging in the field or for a scattered development team."

To give embedded software developers control over every technical and commercial aspect of their designs, he says, source code is delivered for RT/Studio's RTOS and protocols.

RT/Studio runs on Windows NT and Windows 2000 computers and is available in June 2001 for the MIPS Malta development system, featuring the MIPS32 4Kc processor. RT/Studio for ARM, ARC and PowerPC will be released later in the year.
