The editors of Military & Aerospace Electronics magazine are seeking presentations for the Military & Aerospace Electronics Show 2005 to be held March 22 and 23 in Boston. The conference theme, The New Frontier of Battlefield Automation and Networking, will revolve primarily around existing and future programs, systems, and components for network-centric warfare.

Everyone knows that military technology is changing. We hear terms such as transformation and network-centric warfare, but few people have a clear idea where the military is actually headed. That's where the Military & Aerospace Electronics 2005 conference and exhibition comes in.

The conference and exhibition is seeking experts and exhibitors from government and industry who can lay out in detail not only what transformation and network-centric warfare mean for electronics and optoelectronics suppliers, but also what are the military's most pressing technological needs in automation and networking, and what are some of the most promising opportunities for industry in these vital areas.

Speakers from the Pentagon, the Department of Homeland Security, NASA, prime systems integrators, and industry suppliers are invited to submit papers for 20- to 30-minute presentations that will outline roadmaps and forecasts of technology needs, contracting opportunities, company research, and production strategies where it comes to applying electronic and optoelectronic technologies to battlefield automation and networking.

John Keller, the conference chairman, is seeking presentations from the military services, the Department of Defense, prime systems integrators, subsystems designers, and component suppliers.

Presentations should center on:

  • program briefings that give developmental timetables with anticipated technology needs
  • technology briefings from government officials detailing their expectations from industry electronics suppliers
  • company strategic plans that detail where company technology is headed in the future and why

Program content will revolve around:

  • technology roadmaps
  • market forecasts
  • contracting opportunities
  • company strategic planning

The Military & Aerospace Electronics East 2005 conference and exhibition is for:

  • program managers in government and industry
  • engineering managers
  • design engineers
  • chief technology officers
  • purchasing directors

Abstracts of presentations are due by Sept. 20, 2004, and final presentation summaries are due by Dec. 15, 2004. Finished manuscripts are due by Feb. 1, 2005.

To submit abstracts or for more information, contact Nuala Ferdinand, conference coordinator at the PennWell Conference & Exhibition Group, by phone at 603-891-9490 or by e-mail at [email protected].
