Officials of the Teradyne Connection Systems High Performance Circuits group in Nashua, N.H., needed automated manufacturing process planning software for bare printed-circuit-board (PCB) manufacturing.

They found their solution in the Control Center suite from Direct Logix Inc. of Santa Clara, Calif.

“We wanted maximum automation in our engineering group driven by our internal rules and distributing Engineering data onto the shop floor via a web browser,” says Dennis Anselmo, Teradyne’s manager of new product introductions.

“Additionally, the system needed to be implemented without the complexity of requiring a dedicated programmer to support the software,” Anselmo says. “These requirements led us to choose Control Center, which provides us with an automatic, integrated enterprise class solution.”

Control Center XP is an automated rules-driven process planning system designed to reduce costs and preproduction engineering time, and streamline customer factory audits.

Control Center process planning is based on electronic customer and manufacturing specifications. Its rules engine dynamically generates the bill of materials), part traveler and CAM instructions. For more information, see www.directlogix.com.
