NKK Switches in Scottsdale, Ariz., is offering the LP01 series of short body pushbuttons. NKK, a manufacturer of environmentally compatible components, is offering these pushbuttons made from materials that meet the RoHS Directive for lead-free solder by restricting the use of hazardous materials. These devices boast a short body of 14 millimeters behind-panel depth. The pushbuttons come fully assembled with a translucent white cap as well as a red, green, or amber LED, which is an integral part of the switch. The diameter of the cap is 13.6 millimeters and the overall diameter including the housing is 20 millimeters. The smooth and slightly concave cap is designed to accommodate the fingertip comfortably. The switch’s design and construction prevents the cap’s removal and limits tampering. The LP01 series indicates circuit status facilitated by the snap action contact mechanism. In addition, it has an arc barrier between the movable contacts to protect against crossover. With a mechanical life of 500,000 operations minimum, this device lends itself easily to applications with high usage. For more information contact NKK online at www.nkkswitches.com.
