Rantec Power Systems Inc. in Los Osos, Calif., is offering a 460-watt conduction-cooled power supply for airborne air-transport rack (ATR) plug-in applications. The power supply comes in an IEEE STD 1101.2-1992 6U style, two-pitch format for military VME ATR applications that accept MIL-STD-704B-E three-phase 400 Hz aircraft input voltage. The device also provides isolated 5-volt, ±12-volt, and 3.3-volt outputs. The design is qualified to MIL-STD-461E and MIL-STD-810 for vibration, shock, humidity, fungus, and explosive atmosphere. The MIL-STD-217F mean time between failures is longer than 30,000 hours at 55 degrees Celsius in an air cargo environment.
