The Macrolink Leopard 10 18-slot VME64x chassis will fly on a UAV program. Macrolink officials declined to say which program because of contractual obligations. What is unique about the Leopard is the extreme lightweight brazed construction. The braze was performed by Brazonics of Hampton, N.H. Also used is an aggressive EMI screen pattern on the sidewalls. The empty box weighs under 4.5 pounds painted. This is mostly 0.090 aluminum alloy 6061 material and includes a removable fan assembly with captive hardware. The Leopard 10 is a custom-design.
