Elma Electronic Inc. in Fremont, Calif., is offering a low-weight rugged 7U 12R1 COTS shielded chassis for military, aerospace, and defense applications. The chassis meets the guidelines of MIL-S-167, MIL-S-810E, MIL-S-461D, and MIL-S-901D standards. They hold 6U-by-160-millimeter or -220-millimeter cards and are available in 22- and 25-inch depths, or in custom sizes. Backplanes in sizes as large as 20-slots are available in VME, VME64x, VXS, CompactPCI, or other architectures. The come with IEEE 1101.10/.11 mechanical specifications. A rear-evacuative cooling system, system-monitoring LEDs for DC Voltages, over-temperature and fan fail indicators are standard. The 7U 12R1 chassis include separate front access to drives via a removable hinge door. Other features include a large rear patch panel for I/O, two handles per side, and power supplies for 350 to 1400 Watts. For more information contact Elma online at www.elma.com.
