Austin Semiconductor Inc. in Austin, Texas, is offering a 64-megabit 68-pin ceramic quad flat pack flash memory component called the AS8F2M32. The multichip package is programmed in-system with one 5-volt VCC supply. This device has access times of 80 to 150 nanoseconds and allows for long-term, non-volatile storage of the microcode for the end platform’s computational core. The eliminate bus contention, the device has separate chip enables for each byte, write enable, and output enable controls.
