EM4 in Bedford, Mass., is announcing the HPL series of high-power laser multimode pumps designed to provide the high power and reliability required for cladding-pumped military and commercial applications such as cable TV (CATV) amplifiers and EDFAs. The HPL series offers three epoxy-free hermetic package types, 3-pin (TO258), 8-pin, and 14-pin cooled and uncooled options, built to telecommunications standards. The HPL Series single-emitter fiber-coupled laser diodes offer up to 7 watts of power from a 105-micron fiber into either a 0.15 or 0.22 NA in an operating temperature range of -5 to 70 degrees Celsius. The HPL product line is Telcordia GR-468-CORE compliant and meets the intended requirements of these telecommunications components standard.
