M/A-COM in Lowell, Mass., a business unit of Tyco Electronics is introducing a MATM-090007-SA00XX 1W S-band telemetry transmitter. This programmable lower-S-band FM telemetry transmitter is for rugged, space-limited applications such as smart munitions, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), missiles, and other harsh-environment commercial and industrial testing applications. The MATM-090007-SA00XX telemetry transmitter is customizable in functionality and form factor for each end-user application. The unit is 31.8 by 41.4 by 5.1 millimeters and is available in other form factors including a 48-millimeter diameter unit. It uses a 5-volt regulated supply voltage with reverse bias and over-voltage protection. Additionally, the design of this telemetry transmitter is capable of achieving a data range of 500 kilobits per second to 20 megabits per second, and has an average DC to RF efficiency of 33 percent.
