Vicor Corp. in Andover, Mass., is adding eight mid-power Maxi DC-DC converters to the 24-volt DC input family: a 3.3-volt, 200-watt model and 300-watt models at 5, 12, 15, 24, 28, 36, and 48-volt output. The modules, which incorporate Vicor’s low-noise zero-current and zero-voltage switching topology, are for military, aerospace, industrial or process control, distributed power, medical, and communications applications. With switching frequencies as high as 1 MHz, the family provides rapid transient response for RF applications. The new products provide designers who do not need the full-power capability of a 24-volt Maxi module with a mid-power option, with all of the functionality and configurability of the high power models. The modules are available in RoHS-compliant models, and measure 117 by 56 by 12.7 millimeters with a height above board of 10.9 millimeters.
