Tyco Electronics in Harrisburg, Pa., won a contract from the U.S. Defense Supply Center Columbus (DSCC) in Columbus, Ohio, for MIL-DTL-24308 connectors with zinc plating. Zinc-plated MIL-24308 connectors are D-subminiature connectors and are used extensively in aerospace and defense electronics for I/O connections of power, signal, and coaxial wire and cable. The new line of connectors includes more than 80 part number configurations. With a zinc-plated shell, MIL-24308 connectors are RoHS compliant and are particularly suitable for applications where cadmium and tin plating are not desired. The zinc version of the MIL-24308 connector is compatible with previous accessories, contacts, and hardware. Furthermore, versions are available for Series 109 (standard density) and Series 90 (high density). Right angle and straight configurations are available.
