White Electronic Designs Corp. in Phoenix is offering the 2 gigabyte SDRAM solid-state memory with PLL, and VLP providing a board height of 0.72 inches. The Joint Electron Device Engineering Council (JEDEC)-standard double-data-rate (DDR2) dual in-line memory module (DIMM) is for embedded computing applications, low-height blade servers, or networking switching. The module consists of 18 stacks of 256M by 4-bit with four blanks DDR2 SRAMs in fine ball grid array packages on a 240-pin DIMM FR4 substrate. This packaging enables relatively high-speed memory requirements and moves the device connections from metal leads along the side of the device to ball connections on the underside of the device.
