In its development of the Luna unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), EMT of Penzberg, Germany, sought an efficient inertial navigation system and global positioning system (INS/GPS).

EMT engineers found their optimal solution for providing guidance and navigation to the Luna UAV at Athena Technologies Inc. of Warrenton, Va. Athena’s GuideStar 111m integrated INS/GPS and air-data sensor-suite systems, weighing only half a pound, is designed for small, high-performance UAV applications such as EMT’s Luna.
