Lambda in San Diego is launching a series of 450-watt board-mount DC-DC modules for next-generation RF power amplifiers in wireless base stations, mobile communications systems, and cell repeaters. The PAH450S series is designed to meet demands of extreme ambient temperature swings, compact size, low heat dissipation, and wide output-adjustment range. They deliver 450 watts at efficiencies as high as 92 percent, and operate input voltage ranges of 36 to 76 volts DC. Available with a nominal 28-volt output adjustable from 16.8 volts to 33 volts, or a nominal 48-volt output which is adjustable from 28.8 volts to 57.6 volts, these converters will operate with a baseplate temperature ranging from -40 to 100 degrees Celsius. The PAH450S series are packaged in the industry-standard half-brick footprint of 2.4 by 2.28 by 0.5 inches, and are approved to UL/CSA/EN60950-1.
